Inexpressible Joy
Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 07:42AM Many have noted than when I write hand-written letters, email, or other correspondence, I end with something about JOY:
Joy; or Joy in the journey; or Joy over each of you; or Joy in the midst of hardship; or Joyfully; or....These are true sentiments of my heart. I have a truly inexpressible joy that screams out to be lived out in a world (and Church) of ho-hum, joyless living. This prompted a friend of mine recently to call me "an apostle of joy". While I am not into titles as such, I found this description to be one that would be great for my gravestone should I pass away before our Jesus returns.
Joy is a fruit of the Spirit. It is evidence of the working of God in my life. It is strength to me. I pray that this spiritual joy will pour out of my life and into the lives of others. If it is truly contagious, then may His joy multiply and spread. Receive the joy of the Lord today. With this entry comes my prayer that you will be filled with the joy of Jesus today.
