Awakening - A Kingdom Community

"Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."  Ephesians 5:14

Awakening is made up of believers in Jesus Christ who are desperate for God's presence and for Him to move in our lives, families, churches, and the world around us. 

Some common marks of our fellowship:

1.  Jesus Christ is our rallying cry.  Denominational loyalities, theological schools of thought, and other issues are not what we are about.  Though these things are present, valued, and contribute to the diversity of our fellowship in the region, they are not the gathering point.  Our common faith in Jesus Christ connects us to Him as the Head of His Church and to each other as parts of His Body.

2.  We love the Bride of Christ in all her expressions.  Our love for the Church reflects that of Christ.  Therefore, we do not throw rocks at the Church, but seek to bring her into her rightful place of relational connectedness with Christ, all true Christians, and the unbelieving culture around us.

3.   Kingdom extension and advance in the unbelieving communities around us.  The natural outflow of living in healthy, Christian community will produce a transformational impact in the communities around us - our homes, neighborhoods, workplaces, and cities.  We seek to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom by:  caring for the poor and oppressed, healing the sick, ministering deliverance to the captives, and preaching the good news of Jesus Christ as both Savior and Lord. 

4.  We are unashamedly Spirit-led.
